London Police arrest man breaking into coin machine

LONDON KY—On Wednesday, July 12th at 8:11 a.m. London Police were Dispatched to BJ’s Laundromat on West 16th Street in reference to two male subjects attempting to break into the coin machine inside.

When Det. Sgt. Gary Proffitt arrived at the scene he noticed George B. Justice, 32, of London leaving the business on a moped. When Det. Sgt. Proffitt attempted to stop Justice for questioning, he continued to flee the scene. Sgt. Travis Hurley and Ofc. Patrick Nunley assisted and stopped Justice on North Mill Street.

Justice admitted to officers that he was attempting to break into the coin machine in an attempt to collect the coins inside. There was minor damage done to the machine where Justice attempted to use pliers to get inside.

Ofc. Nunley arrested Justice and he was charged with first-degree fleeing and evading police, operating on a suspended or revoked operator’s license, and third-degree criminal mischief. He was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
