London Police make a drug arrest

LONDON KY—London Police Officer Drew Wilson responded to a suspicious vehicle complaint provided by the Laurel 911 Dispatch Center on Friday, Nov. 13th at 9:26 p.m. The suspicious vehicle, a green van, was located in the parking of Sun Buffet restaurant beside Hwy. 192.

When Ofc. Wilson located the vehicle and approached it, Christopher E. Russell, 20, of Lily stated he had been “smoking weed.” He then presented Ofc. Wilson with a small cellophane package containing a green leafy substance he reported was marijuana and a large glass pipe.InmateImg112015ZZZ85473_11122015225858

Upon searching the vehicle, a box was located containing a second glass pipe and a package containing white powder residue believed to be Methamphetamine. Russell confirmed that the powder was meth residue and that he was in fact high on meth and marijuana.

Russell was arrested and charged with public intoxication of a controlled substance (excluding alcohol), first degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) of the first offense, possession of marijuana, and buying/possessing drug paraphernalia. He was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
