London Police arrest two at Wal-Mart

LONDON KY—On Thursday, August 25th  the London Police Department responded to Wal-Mart for a shoplifter complaint and arrested two with active warrants, one in possession of methamphetamine.

When Ofc. Greg Turner arrived at Wal-Mart, Tim Atwood with loss prevention informed him that he observed a male cut open a package and remove a flashlight. When Ofc. Turner approached Terry A. Hendrix, 26, of Wooton, Ky., he retrieved the flashlight from his pocket and handed it to Atwood.

Coots, 27, of Hyden, Ky., who was present, had active arrest warrants. Once placed under arrest, Hendrix was searched and located within his pants was a cigarette case with a clear plastic baggie containing methamphetamine.

Hendrix was charged with shoplifting under $500, theft by unlawful taking of $10,000 or more but under $1,000,000, and first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine). Coots was arrested by Ofc. Ashley Wampler and she was charged with having no registration plates and theft by unlawful taking of $10,000 or more but under $1,000,000. Both were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
