London Police arrest woman with meth

LONDON KY—London Police were investigating a public intoxication complaint on 8/15/17 that turned into a drug arrest with assistance from narcotics K-9, Tyson.

The complaint officers received had involved two males and a female possibly intoxicated at the Pit Stop Market on KY-229. Lt. Matthew Moore arrived at the scene and spoke with two males who were outside of a vehicle at the gas pump. Kimberly A. Owens, 51, of London was located inside the vehicle and it was discovered that she had an active arrest warrant for trafficking in a controlled substance.

Lt. Moore alerted K-9 Officer Greg Turner to utilize narcotics K-9 Tyson at the scene. Tyson alerted Police to the steering wheel area of the vehicle where two bags of methamphetamine were found. Also located inside the vehicle was a purse containing a set of digital scales, several hundred empty baggies, and cash. Owens was arrested and charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.

Following Owens’ transport to the Laurel County Detention Center, Lt. Moore discovered three more bags of meth.
