LONDON KY—On Wednesday, April 18th London Police were notified by a citizen of a possible body found in a wooded area near Spring Street at 5:58 p.m. Through investigation, the body was identified at Samantha L. Lewis, 40, of London who was missing since 4.1.18.
Upon officer arrival, it was determined that there was a body. An autopsy was performed at the State Medical Examiner's Office in Frankfort, Ky. There was no apparent trauma to the body and a toxicology report is pending. Det. Daniel Robinson is continuing the investigation.
Assisting at the scene was Chief Derek House, Capt. Darrel Kilburn, Sgt. Eric Wilkerson, Sgt. Ryan Jackson, Ofc. Eric Stallard, K-9 Ofc. Jacob Bormann, and Det. Jessie Williams. Assisting agencies were the Laurel County Coroner's Office and London-Laurel County Rescue Squad.
