London Police Detective Stacy Anderkin Receives CAC Kentucky 2019 Legendary Partner Award

LONDON KY—On Wednesday, March 27th London Police Det. Stacy Anderkin received the Children’s Advocacy Centers (CAC) of Kentucky 2019 Legendary Partner Award at the Capitol Rotunda in Frankfort, Ky. Det. Anderkin was one of 15 to receive the award from across the state.

Det. Anderkin was nominated by Cumberland Valley Children’s Advocacy Center (CVCAC) Director Paige Lay.

“She is a true Legendary Partner advocating for child victims for 18 years. But, she also has been protecting and serving our Commonwealth and local community for a total of 31 years,” Lay said.

Det. Anderkin retired from the Kentucky State Police as a Child Sex Abuse Detective at Post 11. Following retirement, she was hired on as a Detective with the London Police Department and Laurel County Sheriff’s Dept. to work child sex abuse cases for London and Laurel Co. In addition, she is a board member of the CVAC and a Multidisciplinary Team partner.

“The cases I work are not for the faint of heart, but I’m fortunate to have great community partners who work hard to help children receive justice for the atrocities done against them. Without them, this significant work would not get accomplished.” Det. Anderkin said.

Following the ceremony of awarding the Legendary Partners, Governor Matt Bevin and attendees planted pinwheels for child abuse prevention awareness on the front lawn. April is child abuse prevention awareness month.

Other 2019 Legendary Partners named include John Lindsey Adams, Dr. Consuela Alley, Nathan Batey, Billy Begley, Kelly Skerchock Cameron, Dr. Caren Daniels, Donald “Kyle” Deskins, Dr. Patti Faulkner-Simmons, Dr. Kim Hall, Teresa Logsdon, Angela Noble, Shane Weber, Dr. Jessica Wilson, and Richard Zuspan.
