London Police arrest woman for criminal abuse and endangering the welfare of a child

LONDON KY—On Wednesday, April 18th London Police Det. Stacy Anderkin was contacted by the Laurel County Department of Child Based Services (DCBS) who received a neglect referral regarding a 27-month-old child. Through investigation, Sarah A. Sizemore, 30, of London was arrested.

DCBS began investigating the child's welfare on 4.12.18 while the child was in Sizemore's custody. Based upon the child's physical appearance, it was determined that he was suffering from obvious malnutrition. The child also sustained numerous bruises and cuts all over the body. On that date, the child was taken to Saint Joseph London KentuckyOne Health then transferred by ambulance to the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Ky.
Medical staff reported that the child was suffering from extreme malnutrition. Sizemore, who was aware of the child's physical condition, failed to seek medical attention for the child.
Det. Daniel Robinson assisted Det. Anderkin in the investigation. Sizemore was arrested by Det. Anderkin and was charged with first-degree criminal abuse of a child and endangering the welfare of a minor. She was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
