London Police Seize Marijuana

LONDON KY—On Friday, Nov. 20th at 7:52 p.m. London Police Officers Greg Turner and Jacob Bormann responded to a fight complaint at Plantation Apartments that led to the arrest of Steven Williams, 40, of London.

While officers were investigating a fight at the apartment complex, a woman williams (2)approached Ofc. Turner asking for assistance with her vehicle’s key that was bent. While assisting the woman, Williams approached Ofc. Turner stated that he had tools located in the trunk of his vehicle that would help. When Williams opened his trunk to the retrieve tools, Ofc. Turner noticed a strong odor of marijuana. Williams stated he did not have marijuana in his trunk and that it could be searched.

Through searching Williams’ vehicle Officers Turner and Bormann discovered a black backpack in the rear of the trunk that contained 19 bags of marijuana. The marijuana was seized for evidence and tested positive for marijuana. The bags of marijuana weighed a total of 1.2 pounds.

Williams was arrested and charged with trafficking up to 8 ounces and less than five pounds of marijuana of the first offense. He was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
