LONDON KY—On Saturday, April 2nd London Police received a complaint about possible drug activity in the parking lot of Spur Oil located on East 4th Street. Through investigation, Joshua Morgan, 27, of Falls Street in London was arrested.
Officer Jacob Bormann responded to the call and made contact with Morgan who was sitting in the driver’s seat of a vehicle. Ofc. Bormann noticed empty baggies in Morgan’s lap, which he appeared to be attempting to conceal while acting nervous and fidgety. Morgan was then asked to step outside of his vehicle and subsequently two clear plastic baggies containing a white crystal substance believed to be methamphetamine fell to the ground.
Ofc. Bormann then placed Morgan in handcuffs and searched him further, discovering marijuana in Morgan’s right front pocket. Morgan admitted to using methamphetamine earlier in the day.
Morgan was arrested and charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) of the first offense, possession of marijuana, and public intoxication of a controlled substance excluding alcohol. He was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

On Sunday, April 3rd London Police received a complaint at 9:34 a.m. about a suspicious vehicle blocking the roadway on West 13th Street. Through investigation, Derek J. Spurlock, 19, of London was arrested.
Officer Jordan Hopkins located Spurlock parked in the roadway and discovered he had an active arrest warrant on him from Fayette County. Upon arresting Spurlock, Ofc. Hopkins found 10 Xanax on him. The pills were hidden in a plastic container inside his left front pocket. Also located was a broken glass pipe on the driver’s side floorboard.
Spurlock was arrested and charged with third-degree possession of a controlled substance, having a prescription of a controlled substance not in its proper container, and buying or possessing drug paraphernalia. He was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

On Sunday, April 3rd London Police responded to a complaint of a male and female fighting while walking on South Laurel Road. Through investigation, Laura E. Finley, 42, of East 4th Street was arrested.
Officers Greg Turner and Drew Wilson located Finley at Wendy’s on South Laurel Road. She appeared to be manifestly under the influence of an unknown substance, had constricted pupils, was unsteady on her feet and had difficulty speaking. Upon receiving consent to search Finley, two syringes were found, one of which was loaded with a clear gel liquid. Also located was a small purple container with marijuana inside. Finley stated that Suboxone was inside of the syringe.
Finley was arrested and charged with third-degree possession of a controlled substance, public intoxication of a controlled substance excluding alcohol, buying or possessing drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana. She was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
