London Police arrest woman for theft

 

InmateImg062016ZZZ88472_06142016091225LONDON KY—On Tuesday, June 14th at 5:23 a.m. London Police were notified by Dispatch of caller who witnessed a male and female stealing a John Deere Zero turn mower from Meade Tractor.  Through investigation, Ashley N. Russel, 30, of Indianapolis was arrested.

The caller stated that the male subject was riding the lawn mower and a female wearing a red hoodie was running from the scene. Ofc. Daryl Zanet responded to the call, canvassed the area, and discovered the stolen mower parked on a trailer in First Pentecostal Church’s back lot. The trailer was hooked up to a stolen red Dodge truck with Indiana plates.

Russel was apprehended at the scene and stated that she had come to London with a 40-year-old male subject who had fled from the scene.

A key holder from Meade Tractor arrived and confirmed that the tractor did indeed belong to the store and the retail price is approximately $10,000. Bolt cutters were found in the rear of the truck which were used to cut a fence at Meade Tractor to retrieve the mower.

Russel was arrested and charged with theft by unlawful taking of farm equipment valued at $10,000 or more but under $1,000,000 and receiving stolen property under $10,000. She was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center. London Police are still searching for the male subject involved in the theft.
