London Police arrest murder suspect

 

LONDON KY—Within approximately 20 hours following the murder of Donnie Stone, London Police were notified that John Stricker, a person of interest, was located by the Kentucky State Police (KSP) and the Clay County Sheriff’s Department at a residence in Clay County. London Police are charging Stricker, 35, of London with the murder of Stone and the investigation is being continued by Det. Sgt. Gary Proffitt and Det. Sgt. Joe Smith.

On Sunday, Oct. 9th at 2:55 a.m. London Police were dispatched to 705 Middleground Way to investigate a shooting. Stone, 62, of London was found deceased within his residence. London Police were assisted at the scene by the Kentucky State Police, Laurel County Sheriff’s Department, Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County, and the Laurel County Coroner’s Office.

At 10:30 p.m. Clay County Dispatch contacted London Police to report that KSP Trooper Josh Wilson and Clay County Deputy Jeremy Gabbard had located Stricker at a residence on Bundy Hollow road. Stricker was interviewed at the scene and he advised officers   that he had shot Donnie Stone five times with a 38-calibur pistol. The pistol was recovered and seized from him.

London Police arrested Stricker and he was charged with murder. He is lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
