London Police make drug arrest and recover stolen vehicle at Valero

LONDON KY—While on patrol on Sunday, March 4th Lt. Matthew Moore observed subjects acting suspiciously in the parking lot of Valero on the Hal Rogers Parkway. Through investigation two subjects were arrested, a stolen vehicle was recovered, and drugs were seized.

Lt. Moore watched a male and female leaving a silver vehicle and walking into the Valero gas station. Upon running the vehicle’s tags it was discovered that the vehicle was entered stolen previously by Ofc. Troy Truett.

Officers made contact with Brittany M. Baker, 26, of London and William J. Malicoat, 36, of London who were driving the stolen vehicle. A needle loaded with Suboxone was discovered in Malicoat’s pocket and a jacket was found with a large bag of marijuana inside as well as a small bag of cocaine.

Ofc. Moore was assisted by Sgt. Travis Hurley, K-9 Ofc. Greg Turner, and Ofc. Steven Sparks.

 

Malicoat was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property of $10,000 or more, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and buying/possessing drug paraphernalia. Baker was charged with receiving stolen property of $10,000 or more. Both were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
