London Police’s K-9 Unit and Officers arrest a wanted fugitive

12079538_894926883888358_8069394717084058862_nLONDON KY—On Sunday, Sept. 27th London Police Ofc. Jeremy Gabbard conducted a traffic stop on Walton Drive at 6:45 p.m. for a seat belt violation. During the stop Ofc. Gabbard discovered that the driver, Lucky J. Ross, 38, of Payne Trail had no driver’s license and was a wanted fugitive out of Florida for a felony warrant.

K-9 Ofc. Greg Turner and Sgt. Randy Medlock assisted Ofc. Gabbard at the scene of the traffic stop. Ofc. Turner conducted a K-9 search on the outside of the vehicle and K-9 Jaegar alerted him to the driver’s side door where there was an odor of narcotics. Upon the search of the vehicle, a bag of marijuana was revealed between the driver’s seat and console.

Ross was arrested for the warrant and lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center. He was also charged for the possession of marijuana.
